Summary: This book concerns four families of ancestors :
The BREENS and the MARSHALLS from Ireland, the WATSONS from Scotland and the GOLDSMITHS from the Isle of Man.
John BREEN (1804-1875) was an Irish convict, who arrived on the Earl Grey;
James MARSHALL (1813-1890) and his wife Mary nee GRIFFIN (1820-1911) left County Clare and arrived on the Moffat in 1841;
Thornley GOLDSMITH (1858-1940) and his wife Elizabeth COWELL (1861-1954) left the Isle of Man in 1884 and sailed to Australia on the Warwick;
David WATSON (1826-1905) emigrated from Dundee arriving in Australia in the late 1840s, his wife Harriet HUMPHRIES/SLATER (1815-1895) arrived in 1851 on the John Fielden with two daughters from her first marriage.
