Summary: Based on the late Joan Reese's "Convicts and Others' index (1826-1894), this index now contains 204,608 entries selected from the NSW Colonial Secretaty's In Letters (NRS 905) held by the NSW State Archives.
Many entries have been added to the earlier periods plus additional information from many of those records. The records include not only convicts and free persons but also immigration deposits made by persons living in the colony for relatives, friends or future employees under the Remittance Regulations which began late in 1848; just search for 'R.R.' and you will find them. Many of those records hadn't been included in the earlier publications and they contain much more detail than the earlier NSW Immigration Deposit Journals 1853-1900.
Some of the 'List of' entries have also been expanded to include all the names listed. The later years contain many entries reflecting on conditions prevailing at the time in the Colony including Government personnel.
