Pedigree of all the descendants of THOMAS CHAPMAN of Throwley, who died in 1712 aged 79 by his wife ANN nee CLINCH who died 1709 aged 70 years. Exhibited in the High Court of Justice, Chancery Division in the case of CHAPMAN v WILLSON, n.d.
The pedigree is in the form of the usual family tree and is approx. 25 feet long. It contains details of many Kent families (from KFHS list of publications)
The family tree has been filmed in sections which do overlap making it fairly easy to follow any generations.
Because of its length (or width) the entry for Thomas Chapman of Throwley who died in 1712, appears on the far right-hand side of the tree. The right hand portion of the pedigree appears on the bottom section of the fiche.
The Generations seem to be:
1: Thomas Chapman of Throwley: no baptism; married Canterbury 1663 to Ann Clinch of Eastling (buried at Eastling,1709 , aged 70) and was buried at Eastling 1712, aged 79 years (second section)
3: Thomas Chapman: baptised Badlesmere 1704: buried at Charing 1767; married (3) Susan Mannooch; Ann Ruck; Jane Ashley.
He was the son of (2) Thomas Chapman, baptised Badlesmere 1669; buried Eastling 1739; married Elizabeth, buried at Leaveland 1726 (top section)
The pedigree gives brothers and sisters in each generation. Also excerpts of wills of the Thomas Chapmans; also those mentioned in other wills: of Samuel Chapman 1740-1815, buried Eastling, marked x; Henry Chapman 1737-1808 marked x.
Latest death notice noted on the tree was in 1886, Benjamin Leese at Eastling
Some places mentioned in pedigree: Throwley, Ospringe, Selling, Faversham, Lynsted, Ashford, Westwell. Contains excerpts of some wills. The latest death noted was in 1886, for Benjamin Leese at Eastling.
Some other surnames mentioned in pedigree include: Rachell, Suthern, Smart, Partridge, Hills, Wood, Wightwick, Neame, Baden, Giraud and Leese.
