This book was written to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the marriage of John HERBERT (1760 - 1832) and Deborah ELLAM (1767 -1819) , who wed in Sydney a few weeks after their arrival on the First Fleet. The author looks at their origins in England, their life at Castlereagh and Eugowra, and their descendants Benjamin, William Susannah, Joseph, John Jnr, Charles, James and Ann Dudley. Family trees are scattered throughout the publication, and 10 pages of errata and addenda were stapled in during 1997.
