Summary: This is a summarised alphabetical list of schoolmasters appointed by the SSPCK [Society in Scotland for Propogating Christian Knowledge]. The SSPCK erected and maintained schools in parts of the Highlands and Islands of Scotland in which schools the children of 'Popish as well as Protestant parents should be taught the English language, reading and writing, and especially the principles of true religion'.
