|
This book covers the Irebys of Cumberland who may be related directly to the Irbys. The earliest record of Ireby appears to be Eldred, Elftred or Edred in the 12th C, whose parentage is unknown. the name later changes to Irby. There is a table of descent from Eldred to 1860, also a chart going back to the King of Wessex, Cedric, who died in 534. Pedigree charts located at N6/IRB/1c.
