Summary: West Wallsend has its origin with the commencement of the West Wallsend Colliery in 1885. The first noted burial in the cemetery was in February 1890. Inscriptions have been recorded in full; added to these was information from burial records of the grave digger/s and Lake Macquarie Council, also from people who have family members buried in the cemetery.
