Summary: This volume contains copies of the extracts from the newspapers listed, However, it is not limited to the Newcastle area. The newspapers of the day received and printed full lists of casualties and other details from the Federal Government to cover service personnel. All of their names are in the index in volume 2. This volume is worth consulting for any person who was killed, reported missing etc in 1942 from anywhere in New South Wales.
