Summary: Includes the history of Quakerism in the area of Beckingham and Welbourn.

The home of the earliest known ancestors of the BURTTs of Lincolnshire, and also the starting place of Quakerism in the district, was at Beckingham. There are records of Quaker marriages taking place there as early as 1657. At the beginning of the sixteenth century, John BURTT and his wife Emmott were living at Beckingham. He died in 1548.
