After five years research and preparation, this two part publication provides over 1400 pages of general Dapto history and detailed biographies of 606 members of early Dapto families, plus full details on their spouses, and short biographies of their children. General Dapto History features a 52 page chapter on the history of the local Dairy Industry (including Dapto 6 dairy factories), the coming of the Dapto water supply, the development of Reed Park, the Lake Illawarra Regattas, the Illawarra Harbour and Land Corporation scheme, and a review of local land ownership with numerous maps indicating who lived where, both on the land and in the town. Over 2000 land transaction summaries document the land ownership of those biographed. Biographies include the full life stories of renowned Dapto publicans John Reed and P.J. Curry, as well as businessman J.J. Vining, and include some 8 people who changed their name to hide their past.
