A reprint of the names and addresses from Gore's Directory for 1769 to which have been added a street directory and lists of professional men and tradesmen. Appendix I lists the names of the mayor, councillors, customs and excise officers, commissioners of the docks, lighthouses, watch, lamps and scavengers, names of the pilots' committee and commissioners for the seamen's hospital. Appendix II contains information on the stage coaches, wagons and carriers. Apendix III contains information on vessels trading to London, Bristol, Hull, Glasgow, Dumfries etc.
