Summary: The story of a Huguenot family originating with Phillip Barraud, son of Phillip Barraud, and Catherine his wife, born at Angoulaime, France and who was naturalised in England in 1704. The family became renowned for their contribution to clockmaking. Members of the Barraud family later emigrated to America, Canada, South Africa, New Zealand and Australia. Charles Decimus Barraud was a portrait painter in New Zealand in 1853.
