The relevance of sporting records to family historians / by Mike Freestone.
Call No: Thesis/A2/10/CD.25
Author: Freestone, Mike ;
Subject: Australia - genealogy, records ; Australia - sport ;
Material Type: CD ROM
Pagination: 17, 2 leaves : ill., 30 cm.
Notes: Digitised for Preservation and Access May 2018;
Previously held at Thesis/A2/Pam.25 Essay submitted in partial fulfilment for the Diploma of Family Historical Studies.
Bibliography: leaves1-2
Public Note: Submitted by Mike Freestone
Summary: The lack of indexes and the lack of writing on family history and sport shows that, to date, family historians have placed little reliance on sporting records as a source. Sporting records are primary sources that place people in a time, place and context. Freestone has used baseball to illustrate the kind of material easily available to family historians.
