Summary: Maurice Appelbee Felton (b.1803 Hinkley, Leicestershire d.1842 Sydney) qualified as a physician and surgeon in 1830. He married his cousin Emily Felton in 1831. In 1839 with their children and Maurice's sisters, they emigrated to Australia on the "Royal Admiral", Maurice employed as surgeon superintendent. Within four months of his arrival he held an exhibition of portraits he had painted.
