The NSW Corps (sometimes known as the Rum Corps) was raised in 1789, with later enlistments, for service in the colony of NSW. The first detachment arrived on the 2nd Fleet in 1790. The actual pay lists and Muster Rolls for the Corps are found on PRO reels 417, 413-417. In 1810, then recently designated the 102nd Regiment of Foot, departed NSW and later served in the War of 1812 in North America. This war, a result of Britain's blockade of Napoleonic France, was fought between Britain, her colonies in Canada and the United States of America. Covers non-commissioned officers and ordinary ranks, description and Session Books 1808-1816. Alphabetically arranged and by date of enlistment in the Corps. Those who were still in the Corps (Sept) 1808 and to 1816. Includes date & where enlisted; arrival in N.S.W., ship & date; age, height, colour of complexion, eyes & hair; parish of birth & county; previous regiments & years & days of servitude.
