Summary: Charles Edmund Doudney was ordained Deacon at the age of 23 and spent ten years in Australia as a missionary from 1896. He and his family returned to England to the vicarage at St Luke's South Lyncombe, Bath. At the age of 44 he went to France as Army Chaplain serving in and around the Ypres Salient and with the 18th Field Ambulance. He was killed in action at Ypres, October 16th, 1915.
